My word is my bond

With Rodeo season fast approaching, want to share a little thought with you.

I love the program, The Cowboy Way. I followed it for a few years whilst I was still living in the UK and thoroughly enjoyed watching all the series.

There is a moment when one of the cowboys, Cody Harris spoke a value that he lives by: My Word is my Bond.

It’s an impressive core value. One that is crucial in business. It is one that resonates with me.

I was recently reminded that not every business person or their business shares that same value.

A business I had high expectations of; a business that I thought had really good values and integrity…displaying theirs on the walls of their offices and meeting rooms....yet when it came to it, they didn’t fulfil Cody’s value that we also align to at KV Impact. Their word was not their bond.

I wonder how does your business conduct itself?

Of course there is a need for legal agreements, contracts and similar, but when it comes down to it, does your business live by a strong value such as ‘My Word is My Bond’?
