SEC Cybersecurity Rules

The SEC's Cybersecurity Rules (“the Rules”), including material incident disclosure requirements for public companies, became effective on December 18, 2023 (smaller reporting companies have a 180-day deferral).

It is now essential for Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) to proactively address cybersecurity concerns. But what does that mean?

At KV Impact we are cyber risk specialists who are committed to helping firms navigate the changes successfully through a comprehensive cyber risk management and governance program.

It’s an approach that’s down to earth, effective and speaks your language.

The KV Impact approach:
Our CyberAssureMe program is designed to ultimately put executives in the know and ensure that there is the appropriate governance in place to meet the Rules.

From our experience with Regulated entities either side of the Atlantic, our clients always thought that they were in alignment and compliant with Regulatory Rules. However, no client so far has been in that position when we first engaged.

Our CyberAssureMe program is based on these 3 elements:
·       Discovery
·       Remediation
·       Oversight
We cover critical aspects of board governance, strategy, risk management, vendor management, policy development, cyber processes, cyber procedures, staff training, asset management, technology tools in use, approach to vulnerability management, data management, cyber incident preparation & testing.

We actively encourage a proactive approach to cyber risk management to secure compliance with the Rules, but further, that each firm is proactively managing one of the greatest risks to their business (a risk to destroy a firm’s reputation, wipe out its finances and lose critical information).

To delve deeper into the specifics of our CyberAssureMe program and how it can benefit your firm, we invite you to schedule a brief consultation with one of our cyber risk specialists. During this consultation, we can address any questions or concerns you may have.
